Tarff ‘Services’

Formerly known as the South West Machinery Ring, the activities of this organisation were taken over by Tarff Valley in 2019 and

re-branded as ‘Tarff Services’. Tarff Services is part of the Scottish Machinery Ring Association.

Tarff Services offers its members a number of benefits including cheaper fuel and rebate schemes.  Members of Tarff Valley are automatically entitled to use Tarff Services.

Since the launch of Tarff ‘Services’ in November 2019, the short courses which have been held on local farms include hoof trimming, telehandler operation, ATV training and first aid. These have all been very well received with excellent feedback. As of Monday 3rd February 2020, Tarff ‘Services’ became a recognised LANTRA approved training centre
 What does ‘LANTRA approved training centre’ mean?
Tarff can now offer its customers industry leading training courses with the support of skilled instructors and assessors. LANTRA is one of the UK’s leading awarding bodies and Tarff is delighted to have LANTRA accreditation backing its service.

Meet the Team!

Tracey McEwan
Tracey joined Tarff in May 2019 as Services Co-ordinator. Tracey oversees the Pre-Apprenticeship programme and works closely with farmers to develop training plans to continually improve professional development on farm and ensure farmers are up to date with current regulations to remain compliant i.e health and safety documents, first aid training. Adam Wardrop
Adam started with Tarff Services in October 2023. Adam is our Training and Learning Coordinator and will be lecturing and assessing competence within training programmes. Peter Falconer
Peter has been with Tarff since June 2015 and started on reception. Peter’s role began to change when Jayne Ward (former South West Machinery Ring administrator) announced her intention to move back home to the North East. Peter now co-ordinates the invoicing of commodities and contract work whilst still maintaining his receptionist role within Tarff. Emma Glendinning
Emma joined the Tarff Services team in May 2022 as an Administration Assistant. Emma assists Tracey & Adam with contracts, administration paperwork, booking of training courses and much more. Emma also oversees the Tarff Services social media pages to keep people up to date with what’s happening!
